We aim to provide the children with the geographical skills, knowledge and vocabulary which will enable them to develop both a sense of place and an ability to assess and describe their environment accurately and critically. Studies will include work on differing locations, including the area around this school, a contrasting location within the U.K. and a location within a contrasting country. The children will undertake fieldwork making observations, taking measurements and drawing conclusions from their results. They will learn about their environment and the ways in which they interact with it.
The children will use a variety of sources of information, including photographs, books, maps and charts, newspapers and computer programs.
