PE and Sport Premium
At Hatton Park Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that every child develops a love of physical activity and has access to a wide range of sporting opportunities. Our Sports Premium funding is carefully planned to improve the quality of PE, increase participation in physical activity, and promote healthy, active lifestyles for all pupils.
Internally, we have invested in high-quality professional development for staff to strengthen the teaching of PE and ensure lessons are engaging, progressive and inclusive. We continue to utilise our PE curriculum resources to provide consistency and clear progression in skills, knowledge and vocabulary across all year groups. Funding has also been used to purchase and replace PE equipment, ensuring children have access to high-quality resources both within lessons and during active playtimes.
To encourage participation beyond curriculum PE, we have provided a range of extracurricular clubs and sporting opportunities that cater for different interests and abilities. These opportunities help pupils develop confidence, teamwork, resilience and leadership skills whilst promoting regular physical activity. Playground resources and structured activities have also enhanced active playtimes, helping children to achieve the recommended 30 active minutes during the school day.
Externally, we have continued to work with specialist coaches and local sports organisations to enrich our provision and enhance staff expertise. Pupils have benefited from opportunities to participate in festivals, competitions and inter-school sporting events across the local area. Funding for transport and event participation has enabled more children to represent the school and experience competitive sport in a positive and supportive environment.
Through our Sports Premium investment, the profile of PE and sport continues to grow across the school. Children are developing greater confidence, physical competence and a deeper understanding of the importance of leading healthy lifestyles. Participation in extracurricular activities remains strong, staff confidence in delivering PE has increased, and pupils have enjoyed success across a range of sporting events and competitions.
Our vision is that every child leaves Hatton Park Primary School with the skills, knowledge and motivation to remain physically active throughout their lives. By providing high-quality PE teaching, a broad range of sporting experiences and opportunities for competition, we are building a culture where all children can enjoy, achieve and thrive through sport and physical activity.
